Help! Our Barn Restoration Fund

With your help and generosity we hope to turn our beloved 18th century barn into our latest Gite: Gîte Monet!
 
All donations over £20 will be entered into a prize draw for a week long stay at our beautiful Gîte Renoir.

Nestled in the charming commune of Sérigny, Vienne, France, our château stands as a breathtaking piece of history - virtually untouched since its construction in the 15th century.

 

The realisation came quickly upon discovering the condition of this magnificent estate, a monumental and passionate restoration awaited us, we could never have imagined the wild, yet deeply rewarding adventure it would be.

 

Since purchasing La Galiserie in 2022, we’ve spent the past three years working tirelessly to preserve this slice of French heritage for generations to come. Many of you have followed our journey through Channel 4’s Help! We Bought A Village and our own videos and photos documenting every step of the process.

A Change of Plans and a New Beginning

The hope was for Lolly’s twin brother, Greg, to take on the project of restoring the 300-year-old barn on the property. Unfortunately, this could not proceed due to the sale of adjoining farm land not reaching an agreement.

 

Happily, Greg has since discovered a beautiful local property with three hectares of land, where he’s bringing to life his lifelong dream of creating a “Garden of Distinction.” We couldn’t be more thrilled for him and wish him every success!

Le Projet de Restauration: Gîte Monet

With Greg’s move opening a new chapter, we are now focusing all our energy on transforming that ancient barn into a luxurious holiday retreat: Gîte Monet.

 

This project lies at the heart of our mission to restore La Galiserie to its former splendour while breathing new life into its historic charm.

 

We’ve already made great progress: the architect’s plans are approved, the development tax is paid, and work is underway.

How Can You Help Bring Gîte Monet to Life?

To complete this restoration, we are asking for your help to fund essential materials such as insulation, plasterboard, the ground floor concrete pour, windows, doors, stairs, bathrooms, paint, and tiles


This is where you come in! We’re launching a donation draw with a difference to help raise the remaining funds.

THE PRIZE: A week’s holiday for two in our beautiful Gîte Renoir!

If you could donate £20 you will automatically be put into our draw once. If you could donate £40 you will be automatically put into our draw three times if you could donate £50 you will be automatically put into our draw 5 times OR if you could donate £100 you will automatically be put into our draw 15 times.

The Grand Finale Draw

When Gîte Monet is finally complete, everyone who has donated - at any stage - will be entered into one final, spectacular draw to win a week’s holiday for six in the brand-new Gîte Monet.

2.    Eligibility:

  • Open to participants aged 18 and over.

  • Entries are open worldwide unless local regulations prohibit participation.


3.    How to Enter:

  • Please Donate

  • Every £10,000 milestone reached will trigger a prize draw.

  • All donors will be entered into the final Grand Finale Draw when Gîte Monet is completed.


4.    Prizes:

  • Regular Draws: One week’s holiday for two in Gîte Renoir, our fully restored holiday gîte at Château La Galiserie.

  • Grand Finale Draw: One week’s holiday for up to six guests in the brand-new Gîte Monet (once completed)

  • Holiday dates will be arranged by mutual agreement, subject to availability. Travel costs to and from La Galiserie are not included.


5.    Winner Selection and Notification:

  • Winners will be chosen at random and announced publicly on our official Instagram, Facebook and Website.

  • We will never request sensitive information via direct message - winners will be contacted securely via our verified channels only.


6.    Transparency:

  • Every draw will be recorded and shared publicly.

  • We will give at least one week’s notice before each draw.


7.    Donations and Use of Funds:

  • All funds raised go directly toward the restoration of Gîte Monet and related site works at Château La Galiserie.


8.    General:

  • This draw is run solely by Sean and Lolly at Château La Galiserie.

  • We reserve the right to amend these terms if necessary to ensure fairness or comply with legal obligations.
